Mobile video surveillance for construction sites, plants and temporary areas
A construction site changes every week: no power when work begins, valuable machinery and materials left outdoors overnight, perimeters that keep moving. That is why we developed two mobile units, G.U.F.O. and G.U.F.O. SMART (Guardian Unit For Observation). They can be set up in a few hours and stay connected 24/7 to our Operations Centre.
We use them to protect building and road construction sites, solar and wind farms under construction, storage yards, car parks and critical infrastructure.
G.U.F.O. – mobile surveillance tower
G.U.F.O. is a trailer with an aluminium telescopic mast carrying 4 fixed cameras and a speed dome: a 360° view from above, able to frame, track and zoom in on people and vehicles on the move.
- Thermal and visible cameras: each fixed camera has a dual lens, one for the context image (4 MP) and one thermal, so it sees in the dark.
- Video analytics: automatically detects people and vehicles entering the area (detection range up to about 146 m for a person and 449 m for a vehicle).
- 2 MP speed dome with 45x optical zoom, controlled by the operator for visual inspections.
- Remote deterrence: LED floodlights, loudspeakers and strobe lights that the Operations Centre can switch on.
- Self-powered: three 380 W solar panels with storage batteries and a backup generator for cloudy days.
- Connected to the Operations Centre over 4G and 5 GHz Hiperlan, with local recording on an NVR.
- Withstands winds up to 100 km/h.
G.U.F.O. SMART – intrusion detection with photo verification
G.U.F.O. SMART is the lightweight version: a wheeled trolley with a telescopic mast and a sealed metal box housing the alarm control panel. Wireless sensors with built-in cameras are placed around it, even far from the unit, to protect wide perimeters or several points of the site.
- From 4 to 100 wireless motion sensors, with a radio range of up to about 1.5 km from the control panel.
- Photo verification: when a sensor detects movement it takes a series of pictures (also in the dark, with infrared illumination) that reach the Operations Centre within seconds. The operator can immediately tell a real intrusion from a false alarm.
- Outdoor sensors (IP56), with small-pet immunity and anti-masking protection.
- High-power siren on top of the mast for immediate deterrence.
- Built-in GPS: reports any attempt to move the unit.
- Battery powered with an estimated autonomy of about 9 months; 4G and WiFi communication with encrypted protocols.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need mains power on site?
No. G.U.F.O. runs on its solar panels, batteries and a backup generator; G.U.F.O. SMART runs on batteries.
What happens when an alarm goes off?
The Operations Centre operator receives the alarm with the images, checks what is happening, can trigger the siren, lights or voice messages and, if needed, dispatches a patrol and alerts the police.
How long can I keep them?
As long as you need: from a few weeks to the whole duration of the works. As the site progresses, we move the units and sensors.
Are the images handled in line with privacy rules?
Yes. We position cameras and sensors to cover only the area to be protected and supply the information signs required by video surveillance regulations.
